The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Mordovia and the Tourist Information Centre launched a voluntary accreditation of guides of the country in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Director of the Tourist Information Centre of Mordovia Yulia Alexandrova told Wolcome2018.

"The purpose of accreditation is to improve the quality of tour services and to provide the visitors of the World Cup with reliable information about tourist resources of Mordovia,” Alexandrova said. “The process of accreditation involves passing a refresher course, where the guides attend master classes by leading experts in the sphere of tourism,” she added.

Alexandrova noted that the program is free of charge. "In Russia there are currently few regions that have an accreditation program, all the more so free of charge. It is very important for us that the guests of the Republic receive accurate and relevant information, that they want to come back to us,” she said.

Modern socio-economic development of the republic, tourist potential and prospects of the development of urban infrastructure on the threshold of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be discussed at the trainings.
