World Cup 2018 postmarking ceremony in Nizhny Novgorod

First deputy governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Dmitry Svatkovsky, regional minister of sports Sergey Panov and president of Privolzhye interregional football union Vladimir Afanasyev were in attendance as the postcard dedicated to FIFA World Cup 2018 RussiaTM was postmarked in a gala ceremony in  Nizhny Novgorod. Thirty thousand postcards have been printed.  

"We are glad to witness yet another event promoting the World Cup and its symbols in Nizhny Novgorod,” Vladimir Afanasyev told welcome2018.com. “There’s no reason to doubt that the people of Nizhny Novgorod will buy up the whole print run – 30,000 postcards. The World Cup postcard makes a great souvenir and is a coveted collector’s item. Thanks to these postcards, people are going to learn about Nizhny Novgorod and the World Cup everywhere in Russia and around the globe.”  

The first ambassadors of Nizhny Novgorod as a World Cup host city – footballers Denis and Dmitry Chernyshev - were introduced earlier today.
