Nizhny Novgorod Stadium main construction works completed

Test matches at the arena will be held in April and May 2018

Construction and installation works at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ are completed. This was reported by the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region media service.

 "At the moment, the main types of construction and installation works at the stadium have been completed, namely: the construction of foundations, monolithic reinforced concrete structures, roofing, connection to water supply and drainage networks from urban sources, connection to the city heat supply network, on-site water supply networks, on-site networks of water drainage, storm sewerage, heat supply,"  the media service quotes the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation Leonid Stavitsky, who the day before together with the Head of the Rregion stand-in Gleb Nikitin checked the readiness of the arena.

All the agrotechnological events on the football field are completed in full. At the moment documents are being prepared for the acceptance of more than 2 thousand premises of the arena, all start-up programmes have been agreed upon.

Test matches at the Stadium of Nizhny Novgorod will be held on April 15, 28 and May 6. Nizhny Novgorod club Olympiets  will participate in all matches.

The World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 in 11 cities. In Nizhny Novgorod there will be four matches of the group stage: on June 18, the Swedish team will play against the South Koreans, on June 21 the Argentines will meet with the Croats, on June 24 the England team will face off with the Panamanians, and on June 27 the Swiss team will play against the Costa Rican team. Also, the city will take one of 1/8 final and quarterfinal matches.
