On the way back to Kaliningrad, stop in the village of Zaytsevo (just 12 km from Pravdinsk towards Kaliningrad) to see a unique natural complex - the upland swamp of Zelau, which, according to various sources, is ten to six thousand years old. This small natural site, dotted with small lakes, is called a remnant of the glacial period: it is one of the last large upper marshes preserved in Central Europe.
Several endangered species of birds breed on Zelau, such as the golden plover and gray shrike. Do not forget to bring insect repellant.
