White, light and fresh – the terrace of the Schastye Na Kryshe (Happiness on the Roof) restaurant is really located on the roof, and offers a great view of central Moscow and Tverskaya lanes (but keep in mind that there are several rooms inside as well). The menu is appropriate for the location: light, pleasant and familiar dishes.
The kitchen serves dishes beloved by most, but with interesting twists: spaghetti carbonara is served with a poached egg and chili bread crumb; beef stroganoff is cooked with honey fungus; salmon steak is served with baked beet and black rice. Chicken soup comes with wheat croutons, vegetable fritters – with orange creme fraiche, grilled veal – with potatoes and wine sauce. There is also a salad with homemade pastrami and sorrel.
Vegetarians will find a separate menu: ravioli with cheese, gnocchi with spinach and arugula, and oyster mushroom steak with sprouted green buckwheat.
