To try and understand these feelings of we recommend joining the crowd of high school graduates at the Palace embankment for the Scarlet sails celebration, visiting a local club to hear one of city’s rock legends live, going out to the Lieutenant Schmidt embankment for the Navy Day to see the Baltic Fleet warships or buying a ticket for a home match of St. Petersburg’s iconic FC Zenit.

There are two Mindal Cafe locations in St. Petersburg, but the one with a view is located at the Angliyskaya (English) Embankment. Just beyond its windows lies the Neva River, the Imperial Academy of Arts, the stone sphinxes and the Rumyantsev Garden of the University Embankment. The menu includes 23 kinds of Georgian and Azeri pies and pastries - khachapuri, chebureki, mchadi and kutaby. There is also a burning-hot kharcho meat soup, ojakhuri (fried meat and potatoes), chashushuli (spicy braised meat) and pilaf. Chef Marina Naumova gets all her herbs from the Caucasus Mountains where even mint leaves smell differently.
