Fisht Stadium

Sochi’s Fisht Stadium was built for the 2014 Winter Olympics, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were held. Its name was given to the arena in honor of the eponymous mountain peak in the western part of the Main Caucasian Range. Translated from from Adyghe, the word "fisht" means "white head".

The stadium's construction provides viewers with a view of the mountains from one side and the sea from the other. The arena can accommodate 45 thousand people.
